Current News (and old news)

- 06.18.04 - Apparently it's been over 8 months since I updated this news section. That's crazy, I did not think it had been that long. As you may have noticed Portland's camera has been down for a couple of months and will probably not be up for a while. In the meantime, I'm planning on implementing a new design. Look for the new design within the next 2 weeks.

News from LA: Coley is finishing up her school year. Yesterday was her last day with kids and she is looking forward to the summer. Seth started a new job 3 months ago at Spacedog and it is going well. Plans for the wedding are coming along you can read all about it at SethandColey.com.
- 10.03.03 - Bratcam Portland is set up! Not only that but we have two cameras for each location, making a total of 4. Our new layout on the Live page allows you to view all 4 thumbnails to get an overview of what's going on in LA and Portland. You can click on any image to view the full size photo. Sweet. Also, I got new fish. We may implement some timelapse movies in the near future, those are always fun. I'll keep you updated, enjoy the multiple cams!
- 08.25.03 - It's been a long long time since I've updated this section. I apologize to all of our loyal fans out there who depend on our current news to keep up with our exciting lives. There have been three major changes since April. As you may have noticed (if you've checked the page in the last 3 months), Coley and Seth made it to Echo Park and the aparment is now all set up and lived in. Another major change for them is the addition of a new dog, Laila. She is a 1 year old boxer and she gets along great with Doby. They love to play hard and she follows Doby around everywhere. Ben and Rachel have just arrived in Portland and should move into a house September 1. Hopefully, it will not take too long for them to get DSL or Cable set up once they're there. So, that's that. Enjoy the show.

- 04.26.03 - Damn, I'm predictable. I was going to open with "Current news my ass" and explain how I should really just change the title of this page, but then I noticed that my last entry started with that line. It's now been exactly 3 months since the last news bulletin. Let's see, Coley, Seth and Doby are moving mid to late May . They are headed to Echo Park, which is still in Los Angeles. I think there should be a good view for the camera there, hopefully there won't be much of a downtime while the DSL switches over.

Also, Coley is going to be working for the Dodgers this summer, very exciting. In Echo park we'll be a short bike ride from the stadium. That's it for now, I can't promise when I'll get to updating this again. Perhaps I should stop taking up so much space referencing how infrequently I update this page and just update, but it always amazes me.

- 01.26.03 - Current news my ass. I'm sorry about the laziness folks. It's been over TWO months since our last "current news". Obviously, we suck. I suppose not much has happened in the past two months to report on though. Bratcam LA has a new angle (exciting) and the room has been re-arranged (also exciting). Hmmm, other than that, everything's pretty much the same. Ben started doing some homebrewing again. Everybody's doing well. Doing stuff and things and stuff. Hey, if you like our cams you oughtta sign our guestbook or send us an email telling us we're cool and what not. OK that's all. I'm not even going to say that I'm going to try to update this section more often, we all know It ain't gonna happen. Pace y'all.

- 11.14.02 - This news has obviously not been staying very current. Sorry 'bout that. We'll try to do better. Let's do bullet points.

  • Coley is teaching 6th grade humanities at Audobon Middle School
  • Seth is working part-time at Behnisch, Behnisch and Partner and doing freelance projects
  • Ben is a Final Cut Pro editor at bthere.tv
  • Rachel is doing freelance photography and putting together a professional portfolio
  • Doby has started with a new dog walker. He likes her very much and is having a good time.
  • You should send us suggestions for the site, really we need them. And we like to get mail. feedback@bratcam.com

There, weren't those bullet points fun. I'll update again soon, I swear.

- 07.01.02 - The Bratcam has recently undergone some major changes. We are no longer located in Boston at all. Seth, Nicole and Doby are in Los Angeles and Ben and Rachel are in New York City. We have cameras in both locations which makes for a cool bi-coastal cam site. Seeing as how this news page hadn't been updated in about 5 months it hasn't been very current. Sorry about that, I'll try to keep it more updated. Peace y'all.

- 01.26.02 - The Bratcam has now been around for 3 years! That's pretty cool, who woulda thought? As I mentioned previously, we'll be losing Ben soon, very soon. It's now official, he's moving out Feb. 1st. Off to the big city to pursue his dreams (or something along those lines). Taking his place in our household will be Derek. We'll have more info soon. It has also become official recently that Nicole and Seth will be moving to Los Angeles in about 4 months. What will happen to The BratCam you ask? We're not sure yet, it will probably become a bi-coastal conglomerate of web cams - Boston, New York and Los Angeles.

- 12.12.01 - Alright folks, we're implementing a new design and personally, I like it. We're going to be losing one of our founders soon unfortunately. Well, maybe losing is a bit strong. Ben is moving to New York in the near future. Once he's all settled in down there, we'll have a Bratcam NYC section, so really we're just expanding. Hey, what do you think of the new design? Let us know, feedback@bratcam.com. I'll try to keep this news a little more current in the future. Have a great day!
- 10.30.01 - Happy Halloween everybody! Well, soon anyway. So, it's been a while since we've updated this "current" news section. Today we also updated the photos and bios on the Who we are page as well as the graphic on the main page. The people living in this house now are Ben, Seth, Nicole and Christen. And of course, there's Doby, the energetic, lovable puppy. As you can see from the "Live Camera" page we are trying to have two cameras running but have so far been unsuccesful. For now, only the bar camera works but we'll keep on trying. I guess that's all for now, rock on!
• 06.15.01 - So as you can probably tell, we've moved the cam to a different room. We figured you'd rather see us active and hanging around, rather that just watching TV. The other reason we moved it is that we just got a bar and a dart board and put them in our dining room (the room you can see now). You can't see them cause they're off to the left but we hang out and play darts in there a lot. In other news, Noelle, Greg, and Rachel have moved out! So it's a whole new ballgame folks. We should be putting up new bios and pics of the new roomates soon. Jaques is living with us for the Summer, then Christen and Nicole will move in at some point. Our hardcore fans might remember Nicole cause she lived with us at Hampshire in '99. That's all for now, let us know what you think about the new angle. feedback@bratcam.com
• 5.08.01 - Where to begin? So much has changed. First, it is my sad duty to inform all you loyal fans that our DSL service provider, has decided to stop offering DSL. This means that the cam is going down. We don't know when or for how long, but the site will remain, and we'll try to keep it interesting, even without the live feed. Also, there will be some restructuring in the house, in that Greg, Rachel, and Noelle will be moving out to explore exciting opportunities in California, NY and down the road a bid. New folks are moving in. We'll have pics and bios up soon.
• 02.05.01 - Howdy Pardners! It's now February and we're slightly closer to warmer weather. Man will it be good. We're working on getting our in-house server set up so we can host the whole BratCam site ourselves. Pretty exciting, eh? Us switching over will make no difference in quality of service that you have come to expect and enjoy over the years, but it'll be exciting. The beer is going well, we've tasted the Pale Ale a few times and it's damn near ready. You may have noticed the new Polaroid Manipulations that are linked to from our home page. Whattya think? You like? We got more. feedback@bratcam.com
• 01.22.01 - Alright, it's a new year and it's been about 2 years since the BratCam was first broadcast via the "world wide web". We've added a new feature which is pretty damn cool. It's a 360° view of our living room using Quicktime VR. Also, we've started brewing beer again (we haven't since last March) and we're calling ourselves the Screaming Lobster Brewery. Right now we have a Pale Ale in bottles and a Nut Brown Ale in the primary fermenter. Got anything to tell us? feedback@bratcam.com. Thanks.
• 12.18.00 - Oh boy, the year is nearly over, and Biltmore #9 is gearing up for it's first ever (and best ever) New Years party. Be sure to watch us celebrate the end of a dull year, and ring in a new exciting millennium. The year hasn't really been so dull, but since we haven't added anything to this page recently, that must mean nothing exciting ever happens. On another note, our good friends Gina and Maya pointed out that Saturday Night Live had a wacky skit about a webcam at Hampshire College. Coincidence? We don't think so. If anybody has any information regarding the SNL incident, please drop us a line at feedback@bratcam.com. Thanks.
• 10.28.00 - Well, what do ya know? Finally the moment we've all been waiting for: DSL has arrived. So as you may already know, the bratcam is back up and running 24/7. Woo Hah. In other news, Seth, Ben and Rachel went back to Hampshire for it's world renowned "Trip or Treat" Halloween party. Lots of fun and familiar faces (behind masks). All for now...
• 8.22.00 - Well we're approaching the end of summer and the weather sure thinks it's Spring. We're all getting along fine even though we still don't have DSL. I swear to you that someday we will have DSL and we will have the BratCam back up and we will launch the new design (which is ready to be live). Hang in there folks, don't give up on us.
• 7.31.00 - Link Magazine, a college student oriented publication, is mentioning The BratCam in an upcoming article about college web cams. That's pretty cool, they're going to send me a copy and I'll share it with everybody somehow. We are also working on a new design for The Bratcam, a new-hip-sleek-Boston design. We'll launch the new look when we get the camera up in our new house (which has to do with when we finally get DSL). It really seems like the DSL provider doesn't want us to have it. It's taking months... Oy.
• 7.12.00 - We can watch Greg at work now! Or at least we're supposed to be able to, I've never actually seen the kitchencam up and working. Greg works as a cook at Tremont 647. You can visit the Smash homepage to see where Seth is working. Noelle's lab probably has a homepage, but I'm not sure what it is. Rachel's birthday was on July 1st and we all went out and had fun. Seth's birthday is coming up on July 28th.
• 6.22.00 - It's been a month and a day since our last update, but we finally have something to say. We signed up for DSL and will be getting it at our house within 2 months (talk about a waiting period). We're all having fun, mostly have jobs, and went to the Hampshire 30th Anniversary last weekend. It was fun. So, Check back often, 'cause we'll have a camera up and running before you know it!
• 5.21.00 - Hoorah for us! We're now Hampshire Alumni! Unfortunately that means that we had to leave campus and take down the BratCam. During it's absence we'll put together a little image album from the past few months. Hopefully the camera will be back up in Jamaica Plain within a few weeks.
• 5.20.00 - We're all graduating today! Tomorrow we've gotta leave, and that means The BratCam will not be live for at least three weeks. Don't worry though, we'll get it up and running in JP!
• 5.7.00 - It's hot as hell out here. You'd think it was summer or something. Anyway, we're all done with our Div IIIs (those of us that had Div IIIs) We're looking forward to JP!
• 5.4.00 - Yesterday, Greg and Seth bleached their hair! Noelle officially finished her Div III and is done with college! (she is also the only one of us who has a job yet (working with monkeys (she's a scientist)))!
• 4.26.00 - We're all working hard on finishing our Div IIIs. Soon we'll be done and I promise to add all sorts of fun things to this site! Any suggestions?
• 4.1.00 - Happy April Fools! We're having a huge party tonight and It's Greg's birthday tonight! Be sure to watch and to check out our new chat.
- We'll be setting up this afternoon and evening
- Floyd will arrive at 8:00 or 9:00
- The party will get pumping around midnight
• 3.30.00 - Floyd's coming home on Saturday! He'll be here around 8:00 or 9:00 before our big party! Check out his crazy adventures!
• 3.29.00 - Removed the Hamburger graphic
• 3.29.00 - Just added the Hamburger graphic, kinda don't like it much. Also added the New green background. What do you think?
• 3.24.00 - We found a house in Boston! It's in Jamaica Plain and it's awesome. See the pictures here!
• 3.19.00 - It's Noelle's Birthday today! Happy Birthday! Yay.
• 3.17.00 - Happy St. Patty's Day! Seth is dying his hair green, it'll be posted on the hair page soon. We're looking for places to live in Boston. That's right we're graduating in May (everyone except Ben H.A.).
